Unable to cope with her disability\, her natural parents abandoned her on the streets of Jinan\, Shandong Province in the People’s Republic of China in 1991.  She was found by a passer-by and sent to an orphanage.  Life for little Sarah seemed hopeless\, as one disabled child among so many forgotten children.  Her only emotions were loneliness\, rejection and hopelessness.
