Roland joined the Port of London Authority Police, where for three years he worked on a CID squad, fighting organised crime in the docks. Later transferring to the City of London Police, he soon became a specialist instructor, attached to the Home Office Police Training Centre at Northleigh, near Oxford. He had a black belt for judo and gained another in aikido. Roland occasionally taught self-defence and disarming techniques to other specialist instructors.
Roland is married to Margaret, with two sons and three grandchildren. Come and listen to his full story, and his evolution to a better defence mechanism, which has taken him and Margaret around the globe.
