Report from outreach to Romania and Serbia
Colin Wilson (Stoke FGB), John Rowley, Brian Evans, (Bikers Church) and myself (FGB Warrington and Bikers Church) have just returned from a 14 day trip to Romania and Serbia.
There were 6 prison visits, 3 FGB dinners, 2 church meetings and many other events added to the schedule meaning that it was hectic but very worthwhile. Please note that all the meetings, including the prison visits were held under the FGBMFI label and it was men from the old FGBMFI groups that organised the whole trip.
Its impossible to go through each meeting in detail but here are some of my highlights.
At the first FGB outreach meal in a pizza restaurant only 4 guests came in addition to the 12 men/women from the FGBMFI. 2 of thses were non Christians when they arrived but were transformed before they left. A young homeless lady, Claudia age 22, cried so much. She asked the translator to speak slowly and clearly the sinners prayer, she didn’t want to miss out a word. What a conversion. If the trip were just for her it would have been worthwhile.
We then proceeded our journey around the men’s prisons. Approximately 200 men gave their hearts to Christ, many with tears. Men don’t cry in prison, it’s a major sign of weakness, but you cant stop the Holy Spirit from working His miracles. There was prayer for healings, Baptism of the Holy Spirit and much more. God never failed us.
One of the men’s prisons has a satanic reference in its name or the name of the town in which its situated so we renamed it Grace prison and the God of Grace didn’t fail.
Ive not been into a ladies prison for a long time but on this trip the doors were open again. We only had 1 hour. They opened up the Orthodox church as a meeting place for us but im guessing things went on that day that don’t normally take place in the Orthodox church. 45 women came forward for Salvation. There were ladies slain in the Spirit across the floor and much crying and wailing. It did cause a panic amongst the staff. Even the director of the prison was dragged out of her office to look.
Then came another FGBMFI dinner in Arad. The restaurant held approx. 35 people and all seats were full. In many ways it reminded me of how things used to be in UK. A good dinner followed by worship, followed by testimony. Dinner was over, the band was playing and I had the trots. ‘CAN YOU PLAY “ MORE SONGS’ as I had to run again. Then 2 more songs. Eventually all was calm and we could start the testimonies. Several people came forward for Salvation but God gave words of Knowledge and Prophesy to several people.
Finally, but there isn’t a finally, just a space of time before the next trip. Back to the first restaurant in Oradea for a 2nd FGBMFI dinner. The place was packed with young students who politely shook our hands on the way in. Following pizza and worship testimonies were shared and an altar call made. NO RESPONSE. So I picked on one young man, the Lord spoke to him and everyone them came forward for prayer. The owner wanted to close up for the night so we continued the ministry time outside. We may have had a polite handshake on the way in but mega hugs with tears on the way out.
One of my personal highlights. Asleep in a Lipova hotel I dreamt that I should go to the local police station after breakfast. Off we went but we had no interpreter. It was only a 100 metre walk but on the way we passed a café with a young married couple sat at a table. We joined them and shared our Faith. 10 minutes later this couple gave their hearts to Christ. Darius spoke better English than us and Romanian too so now we had our interpreter and off to the cop shop we went. OUR GOD SUPPLIES ALL OUR NEEDS.
Maybe this too is personal but Bikers Church is now established in Romania and we had a blessing of meeting 2 of the leaders and praying for them.
I cant finish my thoughts without thanking my English and Romanian brothers for all their help and support. I want to thank our churches for their prayer anf financial support without which just maybe none of this would have happened.
Finally I want to thank the Lord and the original vision of FGBMFI to share the Gospel all over the world. We prayed every morning for a fresh anointing on our lives, yesterdays anointing being for yesterday
Be blessed
