Warrington FGB Dinner meeting with speaker, Ian Maxwell

An electrical engineer, born in the Gorbals, Glasgow, where he became a gang member to survive!

Under the guidance of a God-fearing Grandmother, Ian was encouraged, with his 7 siblings, to attend the local Gospel Hall for Sunday School. But when Grandma died, Ian was angry with God and stopped attending Bible Class.

As a keen cyclist, Ian rode for the Glasgow Wheelers, but during a mass start a pileup occurred and his close friend died as a result of the injuries he received. He was the same age as Ian and Ian knew that if it had been him who died instead of his friend, he would have gone straight to Hell and not Heaven.

However, during his graduation year Ian accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour, but things didn’t go quite as he had expected. He will explain what an adventure he had when he was sent to prison for 3 1/2 years for a crime he had not committed and so much more.
